This Summer Intern will be field based. The job scope and primary focus for this position is to gain an understanding of and actively support the professional services strategy across the regions and territories via coordination and execution of activities including:Understand the role of Professional Services Veterinarians and participate in field and home office activitiesRide with a Professional Services Veterinarian in the fieldDeveloping and executing plans for engaging customers and meeting customer needsParticipate in field based events including dinner meetings and meetings with key stakeholdersAttend a Professional Services Meeting or a product launch meetingWork on expanding the presence and impact of Merck Animal Health Professional ServicesWork on a social media campaign for professional servicesRaise awareness of the profession through educationSupport and service MAH product portfolioDevelop presentations on disease states (topic of choice)Learn how presentations can affect veterinarians in the fieldEnsure clear, concise and timely communication and also problem identification with Professional ServicesSupport and service MAH product portfolio You will be required to rent a car. As part of this position, you will have to be legally authorized to rent a car in the state in which you reside. This is a full- time internship position. Housing subsidy is not available as part of this program and must be funded 100% by the student. QualificationsEducation Minimum Requirement: Candidates must be enrolled in Veterinary SchoolCandidates must have completed at least 1 year of veterinary school by June 2019 . Required Experience and Skills: Candidates must be available for a period of 9-12 weeks beginning the last of week of May 2019Candidates must be able to Travel 40 – 50% of the timeCandidates must have excellent interpersonal/communication and presentation skills Candidates must have general computer skills including working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to use an iPadCandidates must have the ability to be organized, adapt to a changing environment, work independently and also as part of a team Preferred Experience and Skills:Preferred candidates have basic knowledge of the Animal Health industries.Preferred candidates have technician or Veterinary Clinic experience.Preferred candidates have research experiencePreferred candidates have a GPA of 3.0 or higherYour role at Merck is integral to helping the world meet new breakthroughs that affect generations to come, and we’re counting on your skills and inventiveness to help make meaningful contributions to global medical advancement.
