The Integrated Account Management (IAM) Intern role will support the current business needs of IAM while gaining experience and understanding how Merck engages with external customers and internal partners/stakeholders to support access and affordability of our products. Teams throughout IAM manage direct account and contract responsibility across the entire US health care system: Pharmacy Benefit Managers, Health Plans, Integrated Delivery Networks, Hospital Systems, Group Purchasing Organizations, Pharmacy/Wholesalers, and Infusion companies for Merck’s commercial and government business. As a member of the IAM team, this role will work closely with IAM leadership on key strategic issues and business challenges. This role will work cross-functionally within IAM and with other internal stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Legal, Finance, Pricing) to address key business issues through strategic analyses, internal and external account discussions, and market research. Types of work may include:Leading strategic initiative to enhance organizational understanding of the implications of specific changes in the health care environment and how it affects company business at a macro, geographic, segment or an account level. Collaborating with an account team to gain insight into the business relationship between Merck and a top customer and to learn how we engage to establish market access for our products. Opportunity to support the development of strategic and tactical account plans, and engage in modeling to support performance monitoring, forecasting & negotiation. Providing insight into the development of a pricing and contracting strategy to support access to Merck product(s). This would include the analysis of market trends, potential new product entrants, competitor positioning, customer enrollments and performance, field sales deployments and priorities, modeling offers from a customer perspective and net sales growth. Qualifications Education Minimum Requirement: BA or BS Degree Required.Current enrollment in an MBA program.
