We supply a wide range ofperformance chemicals to every application sector within oilfield: drilling,cementing, stimulation, and production. Our solutions act as enablers for ourcustomers to achieve maximum results in their oilfield operations. In your role as Account Manager for the West Texas Territory,you will be responsible for maintaining & growing profitable sales growthin $11-15 M sales territory within Global Oilfield Solutions. The position willbe based in either Houston or Midland / Odessa, TX with responsibility forselected accounts in West Texas, New Mexico and Houston. Customer base consistsof Service Companies providing solutions in the applications of DrillingFluids, Cementing, Stimulation and Oilfield Production Chemicals as well asFormulators and Resellers servicing the same market.Formula for Success Leveraging your education in chemistry/chemical/petrochemicalengineering or other related technical discipline, with a minimum of seven (7)years of oilfield experience, including 3 years direct oil & gas servicessales with extensive product / market knowledge, you will contribute to annualsales plan for the region; develop and implement account strategies to achievesales and growth targets. You will additionally develop and negotiate customercontracts as necessary. An in-depth application knowledge of production,cementing and / or stimulation chemicals will be considered an asset.Utilizing your strong selling skills includinglead identification and follow-up, ability to close the sale, and strongnegotiation and project management skills you will implement business & pricingstrategies and manage customer receivables / overdues.Your proven ability to successfully collaboratein a cross-functional, matrixed organization to build organizational alignmentand engagement will be vital as you ensure that sales activities in the regionare fully communicated through CRM system (Site / Visit reports, Contactdocumentation, Account plans, Opportunities / Threats, Leads, Sample follow-up,etc.). A clear understanding of BASF systems and processes will be consideredan asset.Demonstrating your excellent communication andpresentation skills with the ability to interact with key decision makers atboth customers and internal management, you will gather market and customerinsights and share information with Regional Marketing. You will additionally provideforecasts of future customer demand and sales performance as required by SupplyChain, Controlling, and business management.Relying on your strong interpersonal skills todevelop and cultivate good working relationships with people in differentdisciplines and business divisions as well as with people from differentcultural backgrounds, both internally and externally to BASF, you will developand maintain customer relationships in regional locations, evaluate businessopportunities, develop specific customer value propositions & plans for implementation, as well as sellingvalue added solutions.Your robust computer skills, particularly inMicrosoft-based programs, will be a highly valued asset. Your keen ability to be a proven and highlyeffective problem solver will be evident as you monitor competitor activitiesand develop actions to prevent market penetration.
