has an exciting opportunity in our Grain Marketing division. We are looking for an Accountant to support Grain Marketing North America as well as CHS? global offices. The candidate will perform mark-to-market processes, accounts receivable and payable along with trade risk. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be self-motivated and have exceptional problem solving abilities.
You will:Compile, balance and report market positions to Corporate Compliance to ensure North America and Global positions are within board approved limits. Notify and request approval from Ag Business Management if positions are not within approved limits.Collaborate with North American Merchandisers, export and global offices to manage payables and receivables and review and research balances.Perform balance sheet reconciliations followed by analyzing and researching variances and discrepancies.Conduct analysis of the contract and inventory mark-to-market process, of 100 plus individual grain profit and loss statements, for North America and Global.Record the mark-to-market profit and loss impact for hedge positions.Collaborate with Commodity Traders to provide information to aid in the preparation of their financial statements.Research and review discrepancies with Commodity Traders.Serve as the approval for general ledger journal entries.Provide documentation and assist with external and internal audits.Collaborate with Internal Audit and Corporate to ensure proper Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls are documented and tested.Create and provide management with various reports to help analyze and manage the business.Responsible for the completion of all assigned Blackline Tasks (monthly/quarterly/annually).Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. Basic Qualifications: (required)Bachelor?s degree in Accounting 6 plus years of experience in accountingKnowledge of business systems and processes, financial principles and effective work flow managementProficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) Preferred Qualifications: (desired)Ag related experienceJDE 9.0 & SAP ECC systems knowledgeBI and Insight Reporting Experience with commodity trading and mark-to-market accounting
