The position will perform and coordinate accounting processes according to GAAP, regulatory requirements, and industry practices. The position will mark inventory and contracts to market, prepare balance sheet reconciliations and prepare various accrual entries as needed. The Accountant will also assist with the implementation and execution of sound internal control procedures and with quarterly and annual reporting. Clear communication with colleagues across multiple business functions and operating companies is integral.Core Functions:Fully participate and assist in facilitating a timely and accurate month-end closing processManage assigned general accounting processes, including mark to market calculations and analysis, preparing and recording journal entries, and executing other closing tasks and controls as assignedResponsible for preparation of assigned balance sheet reconciliations including adequate procedures and processes to ensure no material cross period adjustmentsGenerate applicable analysis and reports to divisional, regional, and location management to provide clarity, understanding and explanations of monthly financial results (EBIT, Margins, Inventory Adjustments, etc.)Be an engaged business partner to location commercial and operations teamOther job duties as assignedREQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & CORE COMPETENCIES:Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent related degree required; masters of accountancy and CPA desirable0 – 3 years accounting experienceSAP & Hyperion experience a plusKnowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Excellent communication skills
