Our customers are farmers, ranchers, agribusinesses, commercial fishermen, timber producers, rural homeowners, and crop insurance customers in Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Alaska.This temporary position is based at our Spokane, Washington location, and reports to the Senior Financial Analyst. The internship is expected to last 6-9 months, with a part-time schedule while school is in session, and a full-time schedule in the summer.This position supports the accounting and internal control functions with a focus on general ledger, accounts payable and reconciliations. This position will also assist with the preparation of financial reporting, and assemble information for auditors, management, and other requesters. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProcess vendors in Accounts Payable system including set-up and ongoing management.Verify accounts payable checks match supporting invoice information for payment.Assist with preparing or posting general ledger entries.Reconcile general ledger accounts.Assist with preparation of financial reporting supporting documents.Scan recurring departmental records.Perform analysis of loan, general ledger and other financial information.Gather required information for internal audit/external auditors, management, and others. Minimum QualificationsAssociate’s degree or current enrollment in program to obtain a degree or certification in accounting, business, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.At least one year of relevant experience or coursework.Ability to maintain confidentiality as required and appropriate.Ability to provide courteous, competent service to internal and external customers.
