Overview: This Accounting Manager position, within the Milling and OVC Accounting group located in St. Louis, will be assigned the accounting responsibilities for the BNA OVC US Refinery facilities. This position will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Oils position reconciliation, inventory valuation, and mark-to-market processes. This position will also have accounting oversight of the soy oil back-to-back transfer pricing process for the Oil Trading Center (OTC).In addition, this position will be responsible for the SOX Control environment at the facilities (along with the Oils Commercial team in St Louis). Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled Essential Functions:Oils Risk Position / Inventory Valuation / Mark-to-Market• Responsible for the Refined / Packaged Oils contract mark-to-market and inventory valuation accounting functions. • Ensure internal controls are properly executed with regard to Oils Commercial activities. Subject Matter Expert for Refined / Packaged Oils daily risk position balancing (futures, cash contracts, and inventories). • Coordinate all SAP / BW testing requirements as it relates to oils.• Serve as the Oils Accounting representative on the SAP Governance Team. OVC US Refinery facilities• Serve as a single point of contact for OVC US Refined Oils to support all aspects of the divisional financial statements, internal controls, and management reports.• Functional Manager for the Refinery Accounting Team with a goal of continued training of team members for the team’s own development and growth in addition to being able to act as a backup in the event the Manager is not available. • Review of general ledger activity, including P&L account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.• Manage internal control structure and ensure procedures and processes are followed for Refined Oils activities. Provide ongoing education and training to Plant Admin. teams on controls and processes that support accounting and financial reporting• Oversight of monthly refining yield analysis and inventory balancing. • Review of inventory book to physical results prepared by the Refinery Accounting Team. • Coordinate internal and external audit activities for the US Refinery locations. • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; Masters in Accountancy or MBA desirable• SAP FICO core competency and/or SAP SD / GTM preferred• Proficient in Microsoft Excel• Able to explain complex ideas and concepts in an easy to understand manner• Manages Information; Effectively delivers information and provides support to stakeholders• Cooperation; ability to coordinate and prioritize across business functions, F&A teams, and plants• 5-7 years of experience with at least 1 year in a management role in agribusiness industry with strong understanding of commodity accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) related to the commodity business• Able to motivate and develop other accounting professionals as well as continue to further develop their own personal competencies. Has a mindset to continuously examine processes and procedures and improve using CI facilitation skills and technology• The ability to compute and provide key information for management decision makingApply for this job.
