Culture at Nutrien is the core of everything we do and all employees are respectful of diverse opinions and views.This position reports to the Operations Area Manager and is responsible for proficient and confidential performance of administrative functionsKey Tasks:Handles confidential and non-routine information.Schedules and organizes complex activities such as meetings, travel, conferences and department activities for all members of the department. Assists with organizing catering services for guests, group functions, quarterly meetings, as well as maintaining and organizing meeting rooms.Prepares statistical reports as necessary and types and designs all departmental correspondence (memos, charts, tables, graphs, etc.) Proofreads for spelling, grammar and layout, making appropriate changes. Responsible for accuracy and clarity of final copy.Compiles Department Monthly Attendance Sheets, handles all Department Staff Vacation Requests, Staff Leave of Absence Requests and overtime, recording and distribution.Establishes, develops, maintains and updates filing system and retrieves information from files when needed.Organizes and prioritizes large volumes of information and calls and Provides relief for PBX telephone operator as scheduled and required.Sorts and distributes mail. Drafts written responses or replies by phone or e-mail when necessary. Responds to regularly occurring requests for information from internal and external partiesActs as a liaison with other departmentsServes as a member on the Crisis Communication Committee.Performs other duties as required.Skills:Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookExcellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to function independently with little or no supervisionStrong organizational skills with the ability to multi-taskThe ability to use one’s initiativeMust be highly confidentialAbility to do research and analyse dataMust display strong attention to detailFlexibility to work additional hours to meet dynamic business demandsEssential Qualifications: Professional secretarial or administrative qualification.Minimum of five (5) CXC O’ Levels including Mathematics & English.Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar position Preferred Qualifications:A degree in Management or Business-Administration would be an asset.Nutrien is committed to creating an inclusive workplace.
