?Agriculture: Ag Literacy DirectorListed: 4/09/19Closes: 04/23/19Employer: Montana Ag in the Classroom FoundationApplicant must be willing to work remotely?Minimum Qualifications:?Education: Bachelor?s degree or equivalent in any field of education (Masters preferred)Experience: 3 years job-related work experience (work experience must be in the field of K-12 education)Special Requirements: Valid driver?s license, safety responsibilites?Part-time job position ? 20 hours/week6 month contract?The Mission of the Ag Literacy Program Director is?To provide teachers with timely, accurate, and integrated standards-based curriculum on Montana agriculture.To foster Montana student critical thinking about the role of agriculture in tomorrow?s world.?This position directs, oversees, and/or conducts a variety of advanced professional educational and management duties to ensure the effective implementation of this program.? The incumbent frequently coordinates with members of the Board of Directors, Montana K- 16 education entities, and agriculture organizations.????The position reports to the Montana Ag in the Classroom Board of Directors.??Ag Literacy Director?s Overall Purpose:?This position exercises leadership, oversight, program management and curriculum development under applicable laws, rules and regulations in the area of public and private education . The person in this position provides these services to schools, universities, agriculture related agencies, and the citizens of Montana within broad guidance and direction established by a Board of Directors. This position is primarily responsible for the development of agricultural literacy curriculum and outreach to the educational community on a statewide level as well as management of the agricultural literacy program and grant procurement/management.? The services provided by this position are essential to giving direction to schools and teachers in the area of accurate Agriculture Literacy.? This position requires skills of both a general and a specific nature, relies upon knowledge of the agriculture industry, effective use of teaching practices in the classroom, appropriate and innovative Preschool ? 12th grade curriculum, sound pedagogical practices, and program development, implementation and assessment of program effectiveness.? This position also requires skills in grant writing, grant management, and accounting practices.? The person in this position should be familiar with designing publications and printing industry procedures.??Major Duties and Responsibilities?Curriculum Implementation and Development ? 40%Travel and Community Outreach and Awareness ? 30%Other Duties ? 30%Identify funding sources from local, state, and national sourcesExamines the standards of education, the national and state trends in education, and agriculture issues both nationally and in state to determine the need for upcoming curriculum for the State of Montana.?Performs a variety of other public relations activities such as outreach at Agriculture Organization events, educational events, and others as deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors.?Apply for this job.
