Agri-Business Development Manager
CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Country Operations division. We are looking for an Agri-Business Development Manager to facilitate business growth and profitability, as well as identify, develop and deliver acquisition, merger and partnership opportunities to promote divisional growth. You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, strong negotiation, conflict management and strategic decision making skills. You must be innovative with a strong commitment to building relationships, ethical decision making, coaching and developing teams, change management and driving execution of mutually beneficial business opportunities.
You will: Facilitate strategic planning meetings with Country Operations general managers, lead teams and local boards of business units to develop business plans. Follow up with lead teams and boards to track performance versus planning and coach them toward meeting or exceeding objectives.
Work within Country Operations Business Development Department to identify and develop plans to optimize or rationalize assets for greater return on assets by business unitsWork with Country Operations business units to achieve profitable growth.Source and filter potential merger, acquisition and partnership transactions in assigned areas. Identify and establish communications with potentially relevant target businesses based on executive leadership criteria.Evaluate and confirm financial and operational information, as provided by target company management.
Conduct (or delegate to) operational and legal risk assessments of said entities (internal risk group / and business development staff).Analyze and understand complex documents in order to make strategic decisions and recommendations to boards of directors and management teams.Travel domestically and to Canada up to 60%.Cultivate and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.Basic Qualifications: (required)Bachelor?s degree in Business, Agriculture, Economics, Marketing or related field10 plus years of work experience in the field of financial analysis, ag-business or marketing to include:Analyzing financial statements including balance sheet liquidity and leverage positions and cash flowsProfit and loss statement responsibilityUnderstanding of all accounting laws and legal documentationSales presentation experience3 years of supervisory experienceExperience with agribusiness cooperative operations and financesProficient in Microsoft Power Point and ExcelAbility to travel domestically and to Canada up to 60%Preferred Qualifications: (desired)Master?s degree in Ag-Business or EconomicsExperience leading mergers, acquisitions or partnership discussions, analysis and transactionsExperience leading a group of employees and setting direction for business outcomesCooperative management experience or ag retail management experience preferred
