Agricultural Cooperative- Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
?CHS Aligned Solutions is partnering with a large, progressive member cooperative providing selection services to hire for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join the local cooperative team.?Cooperative Overview:Located in beautiful rural west-central Wisconsin, south of Menomonie this cooperative is a multiple location grain and farm center that serves patron-owners with exceptional customer service.? This is a large cooperative that is diversified in Grain, Feed, Agronomy, Energy and Retail / Convenience Stores and is experiencing healthy growth.?The business has good leadership and key staff in place with low turnover and are seeking a seeking a qualified & ambitious Chief Financial Officer (CFO).? This position is a senior-level position that will report into the CEO.?Position Overview:The successful candidate for this role will have strong business financial management experience in the grain or feed industry including positions such as CFO, Controller, and / or CPA.? Experience in handling accounting and financial analysis functions in a grain or feed industry setting is a must. ?Operational experience in a business with multiple locations is a bonus.The key CFO duties include analyzing, reviewing, and setting benchmarks for performance, analyzing operations for efficiency improvements, setting budget goals, and evaluating opportunities.?Be responsible for the long range planning of all finance, accounting, and other ancillary departments to successfully manage the company's financial resourcesEstablish organizational strategies; meeting with knowledgeable and influential individuals and groups; assembling information, evaluations, and recommendations from key executives; recommending strategic direction, alliances, mergers, and acquisitions to the board of directors; establishing objectives with key executivesEstablish financial strategies by tracking economic conditions; forecasting monetary requirements; assembling and approving budgets; attracting monetary resources; promoting new strategies with investors; analyzing variances; minimizing the impact of variancesPerform risk management by assessing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats; maintaining adequate insurance to protect assets and cover liabilities?Qualifications:A minimum of 10+ years of accounting experience in financial accounting focusing in agricultural industry segments preferably grain and or agronomyCPA/ MBA degreeGood understanding of the cooperative business model including patronage and serving patron-ownersAccounting software and exposure to ERP systems including Agris, Ag Tracker, or TurnkeyPrior supervisory experienceMust show ability to work with a team and to motivate and solicit the efforts of others?5+ years? experience in risk management oversight including hedging, storage and handling is beneficial but not required?Additional Details:This is an equal opportunity employer and offers Competitive Salary and Benefits.
