Agricultural Data Analyst
OBJECTIVE: The Agricultural Data Analyst will be responsible for processing, analyzing and summarizing data collected from on-farm agronomic and environmental research trials and studies. Aggregate, process, and archive historic spatial and non-spatial agronomic and environmental data.Perform statistical analyses of precision ag data, including remote sensing of crop canopy, yield maps, agriculturally relevant weather indicators, soil characteristics and water quality.Program in the R (required) programing language. Competency with Python would also be helpful.Create reports, visual and written summaries and communicate findings of data analyses to different audiences. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYThis position has no supervisory responsibility. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEB.S. Degree in Computer, Geospatial, Environmental or Data Sciences, Agronomy, Ag Biosystems Engineering or Statistics.2-3 years’ experience with basic statistical methods and GIS modeling.2-3 years’ experience with ESRI ArcGIS 10.x products (ArcMap, Spatial Analyst, etc.) PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEFamiliarity with in-field data collection devices and techniques.Master's degree preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
