Agricultural Education and Outreach Internship
?The goals of the Agricultural Education Outreach (AEO) Program is to better serve the New York State economy by preparing individuals for career opportunities in the food and fiber system and related allied fields through the fulfillment of the NY Vision for Agricultural Education. The AEO Program is seeking one candidate to fulfill the internship, which will have a part-time and full-time component.?Part-time Term: Successful candidate will also be offered the opportunity for up to 10 hours/week throughout the spring semester at $11.80/hour. During the part-time portion of the internship, the successful candidate must work remotely but must have access to a personal computer.?Full-time Term: May 6, 2019 (start date flexible based on college finals) ? June 28, 2019; with the possibility to extend the internship through August 7, 2019. During the full-time portion of the internship, the successful candidate must work onsite at Oswegatchie Educational Center located in Croghan, New York.?Compensation: $11.80/ hour through May 6th; once on-site at Oswegatchie Educational Center, compensation will be $325/week and will include housing.?Preferred Skills :?Competency with Microsoft excel and word?Ability to be self-directed and self-motivated?Strong written and verbal communication?Specific ResponsibilitiesWork closely with the Agricultural Education Outreach Program Specialists, staff, and the NYAAE Professional Development Committee to plan and execute the June 2019 professional development conference for New York agricultural educators.Assist with the planning and preparation of all conference materials and workshop resourcesInventory, transport and distribute conference workshop materialsAccounts payable/receivable for conference materialsProvide leadership to the NYS FFA Officers and assign session responsibilitiesAssist with conference fiscal managementAssist with all conference activities and sessions to ensure a successful experience for all participants.?Attend Bi-Weekly Professional Development Committee Meetings throughout the Spring of 2019 (dependent on start date) 9. Communicate with event venue regarding housing, meal, and session needsCreate all registration materials (schedules, Nametags, Certificates)Communicate with all registrants, assist with online databaseArrange lodging and transportation for guest speakers and presentersOther agricultural education professional development event responsibilities as assigned.Apply for this job.
