Throckmorton FFA has cultivated two national FFA presidents, four state FFA officers, a series of state placements in leadership and career development events, and grand champion animals at every major stock show in Texas.? Students have excelled in a number of competitions from chapter conducting and public speaking to ag mechanics and judging contests.?With ranching and oil and gas as the economic foundation for Throckmorton County, agricultural and engineering roots run deep.? Civic leaders, board of trustees, administrators, parents, ranchers, and business owners see the importance of a vibrant agricultural science program and have high expectations for an agriculture teacher to put in the hours necessary for a successful program.?Looking forward, Throckmorton has joined Roscoe and Hamlin schools as a Collegiate EduNation pilot school district to better prepare students in college and career readiness.? All students will choose a career pathway and graduate with an associate?s degree along with a high school diploma. Agricultural science is a pillar of Throckmorton CISD?s STEM pathways; academic rigor is expected within the program.? Emphasis will be placed on the biological sciences, mechanics and soft skill development. TCISD is seeking a qualified educator who will honor the legacy of the department, emphasize academic rigor and collaborate with local stakeholders to create a model agricultural science department for the 21st Century.
