Sauk Valley Community College invites innovative individuals to apply for a faculty opening for the new Agriculture Program at the College. Sauk is seeking an individual who is willing to do community outreach to successfully launch this new program, in addition to teaching responsibilities. This is a tenure track, nine-month position that is available fall 2017. Salary is based on education and experience and may be augmented by summer teaching and overload opportunities. The College offers a liberal fringe benefits package and does not deduct FICA from paychecks.RESPONSIBILITIESThe faculty member may teach courses on campus, off campus, and on the internet. This position will also provide input to program and course development, as well as other curriculum initiatives. The faculty member will also serve on campus committees and have the option of serving in the role of faculty advisor to associated student clubs.QUALIFICATIONSThe successful candidate for the position must possess a master’s degree in an agriculture related field. This position will focus in agronomy, business agriculture, and soil science.Preference will be given to individuals who have college or high school teaching experience, demonstrate a commitment to the community college philosophy, have experience with assessment of student learning outcomes, and have familiarity or experience with internet instruction.Apply for this job.
