The Company Stewart Grain Co., Inc. is a 3rd generation grain elevator company operating in the same family since 1922. We operate in two locations: Stewart, IN and Bismarck, IL. Ownership also controls the Bee Line Railroad, a 10 mile short line important to the marketing abilities of Stewart Grain. The Position The first position in this career path will focus on the operations side of the business, allowing the candidate to learn the business and the Stewart Grain culture. The intent of this position is to continue developing the successful candidate into a future leader. Therefore, the successful candidate will eventually be accountable for directing others and making timely decisions. The successful candidate will often be the primary point of contact for customers and must provide excellent customer service. Primary Responsibilities Receiving and delivery logisticsOperate and calibrate grain driersSegregate, Blend, Transfer, and Maintain grain quality in storageMeasure, update, and record a current physical inventoryAssist with the updating and implementation of safety programsLearn and participate in grain origination effortsLearn and participate in grain merchandising effortsLearn and participate in risk management, accounting, and financial aspects of the businessWork proactively with customers Experience & Education • Grain business experience preferred• Possesses excellent problem solving skills• College degree is preferred, high school diploma or equivalent will be considered for the right candidate Personal Skills • Effectively communicate and build rapport with others• Demonstrate initiative and eagerness to work• Respond and adapt to situational demands• Demonstrate thoroughness and attention to detail when completing tasks• Comfortable working in a role of autonomy• Project confidence and decisive decision processing behaviors Responses received by August 15th will be considered for priority interview slotsApply for this job.
