COMPANY: Donovan Farmers Co-opLOCATION: Donovan, ILSUPERVISOR: Terry Winger PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT Provide management, supervision, and leadership of the location operations including personnel, scheduling, logistics, product handling, application services, and customer satisfaction. Develops and implements business plans that maximize location profitability. Assumes responsibility for developing customers. SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP Provide supervision and leadership for the Assist Plant Manager, Operators, Ag Operations, and Administrative Assistant personnel assigned to the location. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Develop and implements business and marketing plans that maximize location profitability Utilize target marketing and professional sales techniques when calling on patrons and prospects Develop territory and competitive analysis to maintain a current knowledge of the marketplace and the competition Provide agronomic products, services, and recommendations to patrons and prospects Conduct regular patron meetings on product and technical information Provide customer service by using soil testing, crop scouting and other programs; follows up on customer complaints Ensure the credit worthiness of customers, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales contracts Promote the use of credit programs and helps provide the required information to establish credit. Responsible for assigned product ordering, profitable pricing, inventory control, and shipping/receiving of product Oversee product delivery and application Responsible for plant operations including dry fertilizer blending and loading, handling of anhydrous ammonia, and mixing and handling of ag chemicals and liquid fertilizer Collaborate with the Employees to insure all equipment, rolling stock, and facilities are in good working order. Assist with annual budget planning process. Train employees to meet state, federal, and company regulatory and safety criteria. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Support and contributes to total company goals and objectives through collaboration efforts Collect for sales of all assigned products according to company credit policy Responsible for maintaining the assigned vehicle according to company standards, adheres to the uniform policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image. Follow Donovan Farmers Co-op Elevator Inc. Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply Perform all other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS Normally requires an Associate s Degree in agricultural or business discipline, or the equivalent thereof, and/or 3 years or more of supervisory related work experience to demonstrate knowledge to effectively manage the assigned facilities and personnel. Must have and maintain a Commercial Applicator s License. Certified Crop Specialist (CCS) would be a benefit, if currently not completed work to obtain with 18 months of employment. Ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate driver s license and satisfactory driving record for appropriate vehicle type in order to perform all the duties assigned prior to employment. Must be able to obtain and maintain all applicable certifications, licenses, and permits. Occasionally exposed or required to:Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, snow, ice, etc.)Noisy conditionsWorking conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measuresMay be required to work at varying heightsLift 51 – 70 lbs. Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. Ability and willingness to participate in required training and educational updates to stay current on all facets of the business.
