Agronomy Operations Manager
POSITION OBJECTIVE: To direct, promote, and coordinate operations and profitability in a manner that will optimize the cooperatives market share and savings, improve the cooperatives efficiency, help achieve the cooperatives mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service.RESPONSIBILITIES:
Generates plans and goals for profitability and potential growth.
Manages the marketing and sales efforts of the Co-operative in all divisions (Agronomy, Grain, Feed and Fuel).
Works with General Manager (GM) to direct the purchasing and pricing of all products including negotiating supply agreements.
Work with locations to adjust work force to utilize people and equipment to accomplish highest production across all departments.
Work with GM to make sure the company is in compliance with all safety programs.
Stimulate and develop positive morale and team spirit that leads to high productivity.
Responsible for meeting budgets in the areas of sales, profit and expenses.
Maintain inventory levels to assure excellent customer service, and minimal shrinkage.
Handle claims and complaints promptly.
Make recommendations on replacement, additions, or deletions of equipment when needed.
Responsible for maintaining current and potential customer base.
Uphold all cooperative policies.
Assist other employees and locations to accomplish company goals.
Perform other activities as directed by the GM. This position will report directly to the GM.Skills:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or seven to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.COMPUTER SKILLSAbility to operate all software programs associated with the position. LANGUAGE SKILLSMust have the ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Candidates must also possess the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community, as well as being able to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. MATHEMATICAL SKILLSGood working knowledge with the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, and the concepts of basic algebra and geometry.REASONING ABILITYAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
