AgVenture Inc. Seed and Technology Manager
AgVenture, Inc. (a DuPont owned company) is currently seeking a Seed & Technology Manager. This position will have Product Management responsibility for Corn and Soybean product lines, in addition to coordinating product, trait and technology training efforts for a geographic area. This position will assist with design and selection of entries at training sites within their determined region. Training sessions will be conducted in the field, classroom and via webinars. The Seed & Technology Manager (STM) will provide regional expertise for germplasm and technology to AgVenture Regional Seed Companies (RSCs) and field sales personnel by utilizing research plots, data, Profit Plots, and third party training venues. This position will act as a lead resource to support local sales efforts by directly interacting with RSCs and their sales force.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1. Product ManagementThis position will have crop product management accountability for:Gap analysis reporting and AgVenture, Inc. (AVI) position summaryCrop specific program set-upAdvancement, crop plan review, experimental and commercial naming responsibilitiesDevelop product and trait deployment strategies that align with AgVenture's 5-year business planLiaison between trait providers and AgVenture brand sales force.Work directly with RSCs to ensure understanding of technology and stewardship requirements.Portfolio analysis of the seed lines represented by AgVenture.Specific analysis responsibilities include, but not limited to: Lifecycle management, gap analysis and product advancement. Forecasting support and input on specific products when requested by RSC. Maintain and update AVI product characteristics database.2. Sales and Marketing Support Contribute and create marketing and training materials.Contribute regional knowledge to written materials.Create bullet points for specific seed products in marketing materials.Interact with marketing communications to ensure all product and technology information is current and accurate.3. Training Lead on Gerplasm, Traits, and Seed TreatmentsContribute to marketing materials used for training and education. i.e. Product Profiles, Website Content, Product Placement Guides and Newsletters.Present at sales and marketing meetings, grower meetings and webinars when requested by RSCs.Utilize AgVenture Profit Plots, designated training sites, as demonstration venues for seed products and technologies.Attend third-party vendor events as an AgVenture brand representative to keep current on new technology.4. Technology Liaison with Providers, Research and SalesResponsible for education and placement recommendations to RSCs on new product releases.Attend vendor technology meetings and early product pipeline sessions to be trained on newest product launches.5. Plot and Field Trial CoordinationCoordinate AgVenture Profit Plot training sites.Develop plans for the launch and demonstration of new technologies.Interact with corn and soybean Research Development staff.Take notes throughout growing season and become the expert on seed products for their assigned region.Use IMPACT??? plot system for pre-commercial and commercial product knowledge.Use RSC strip tests for product placement knowledge for commercial portfolio.6. Additional team functions and responsibilitiesWrite sections and contribute to technical bulletins, agronomic updates and Forward Progress magazine.This position will work closely with AgVenture consultants developing training messages.The position will be part of a team that includes AgVenture Regional Business Development Managers and Supply Chain working closely within an assigned geography, coordinating activities with AgVenture RSCs.Qualifications:Bachelor???s degree in Agronomy, Ag-Business, Genetics, Crop Science oApply for this job.
