Develop transgenic and conventional alfalfa varieties adapted tothe Western and Central Plains, oversee Syn1 seedproductionand provide support to the sales/marketing teams.
PhD in plant breeding, agronomy, horticulture, genetics or related field. New graduates are encouraged to express interest. Competencies-Skills (Required):
Proficiency in molecular and quantitative genetics, data management.
In-depth working knowledge of horticulture, agronomy, genetics, pathology and statistics.
Experience in project management, data analysis and data management
Practical experience managing several projects simultaneously Experience-Education (Preferred):
Seed industry experience
Greenhouse management experience
Experience working with perennial crops and familiarity with polyploidy genetics
Molecular breeding skills
Database management skills Competencies-Skills (Preferred): experience in perennial crop breeding, seed production, pathology, greenhouse management.

Excellent interpersonal and management skills
Abilityto interact with breeders, scientists and technical staff on collaborative projects
