DescriptionCorteva Agriscience, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont has an exciting and challenging opportunity in the Predictive Safety Center (PSC) within Crop Protection Regulatory Science for an Analytical Chemist. The ideal candidate would have expertise in chromatography and mass spectrometry and their application to support across disciplines and R&D functions for the development and registration of new active ingredients and agricultural products. The analytical work includes method development, validation, and quantitative analysis in complex biological and environmental matrices. This position is located in Indianapolis, IN. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will serve as a principle analytical chemist in the screening and development of new crop protection products in Discovery Phase; this includes: Design, develop, validate and implement high throughput analytical techniques/methods for the analysis of molecules in various matricesInterpret analytical data and communicate methods and results clearly to stakeholders and project teams in written and oral presentations.Collaborate with internal cross functional teams and external partners to explore and implement new analytical approaches to meet discovery screening needs.Troubleshoot and perform proactive maintenance of chromatography and mass spectrometry instruments.Provide training and consultation to new or inexperienced team membersPromote sharing of information and a team-oriented spirit of collaboration, and effectively utilizing organizational networking to influence decision making.Work directly with the PSC Quantitative Analytical Team Lead to identify critical tasks and prioritize incoming requests and projects. QualificationsMinimum B.S. degree in chemistry or analytical chemistry.5+ years of relevant working experience in quantitative analytical chemistry using LC-MS and other techniques Chromatographic experience with HPLC/ UPLC is required. Experience with GC, IC, and micro/ nano LC are preferred. Mass spectrometry experience with Triple Quadrupole Instrumentation is required. Experience with Time of Flight, Ion mobility, and/or Trap instrumentation is preferred.Experience working with Sciex Analyst and Discovery Quant, Agilent MassHunter and Openlab/ Chemstation, Waters acquity, Thermo chromeleon softwares is preferred.Experience with sample extractions and clean-up, including solid phase extraction, Liquid-liquid extraction, and Quechers. Experience with sample clean up/ liquid handling instrumentation is preferred (i.e. Tomtec, Hamilton, Tecan).Demonstrated experience with analytical method development and assay troubleshootingInterest in exploring non-routine solutions to help drive innovation and perform science that is outside of the box thinking to deliver on project timelines and help influence the scientific communityExperience investigating in the literature or working with external partners/ resources to help draw in innovation and solutionsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and collaborate in an interdisciplinary team environment.Apply for this job.
