Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:Design, execute, and interpret ethanol and biochemical fermentation experiments at multiple scales (shake flask and bioreactors)Analyze and interpret lab- and commercial-scale process and fermentation data to evaluate and optimize performanceAssist in the technical development of yeast and enzyme products during the commercialization process: formulation and stability, performance evaluation, marketing material generation, scale-up, and post-launch supportSupport Sales and Technical Service efforts through analysis of customer samples, lab-scale simulations of customer processes, method development, and remote and onsite technical supportResponsibilities will be focused on ethanol fermentation and will include related work on liquefaction and carbohydrate processing applicationsQualifications:Bachelor?s degree in Chemical or Bioprocess Engineering, Fermentation Engineering, Microbiology, or a related fieldIndustry experience is preferred Experience performing fermentations at multiple scales (including bioreactors or pilot-scale) and fermentation scale-upExperience with analytical techniques relevant for monitoring fermentations (off-gas analysis, HPLC, etc)In-depth understanding of fermentation fundamentals and kineticsExperience with industrially-relevant yeast strains and ethanol fermentation is preferredExperience with enzymes and biochemical assays is preferredDesire to work in a multidisciplinary team and capability to work independently Self-starter with good organizational skills and exceptional attention to detailWillingness to travel up to 15%, including to customer commercial production sites DuPont is an equal opportunity employer.Apply for this job.
