Apprenticeship Program for Soda Springs – #01SQE
Bayer is currently seeking interested individuals to join the Apprenticeship Program for Soda Springs, at the Soda Springs, Idaho location. This apprenticeship program combines both classroom training at Idaho State University (ISU) College of Training Technology (at the main campus in Pocatello, Idaho) along with hands-on job experience. This program will provide apprentices with the knowledge, skills and work experience necessary to be successful and safe as an Operator-Mechanic-Electrician (???OME???) an entry-level technician in phosphorus manufacturing. Individuals accepted into the full-time program will receive all instruction free of charge and will be paid an hourly wage for participating in this program. Apprentices will be considered Bayer employees, enjoy Bayer benefits and earn Bayer service credit for the duration of this program. This 55 week program will include basic training in workplace safety, job shadowing, course instruction in equipment operation and maintenance, to include welding, and on-the-job training. The program has been designed to expose apprentices to the full breadth and depth of career opportunities at Bayer Soda Springs. All apprentices who successfully complete and graduate from this program will be offered regular, full-time employment as an OME at Bayer Soda Springs.Qualifications:Successful applicants to for the program must:Possess a high school diploma or Graduate Education Degree (???GED???)Successfully complete pre-employment physicals, drug screen, and background checkBe able to pass a high-school equivalency examBe willing and able to work 12-hour rotating shiftsBe able to lift 50 pounds Bayer successfully completed the acquisition of Monsanto in June 2018, bringing together Monsanto???s leadership in seeds and plant traits with Bayer???s leadership in chemical and biological crop protection.
