POSITION SUMMARY:This position will be responsible for implementation and continuous support within the pork food chain resulting in quality assurance of a pork industry game changing technology. This key member of the Zoetis Pork Team will be responsible for developing, and managing teams of customer or contract QA Supervisors across multiple production systems and/or veterinary clinics. Duties will include training, development and management oversight to ensure excellence in process implementation. In addition, this person will be responsible for coordination and communication with production operations, veterinarians, scheduling, procurement, processing plants and others to ensure proper execution and implementation of Improvest management processes. This field-based person will report to an Area Application Manager (AAM) on the Improvest Team and also communicate with field sales colleagues as appropriate regarding account information.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: * Proper Biosecurity steps to prevent disease spread between swine barns * How to handle and store injectable products * Proper safety procedures for injecting and working with swine * Proper function and cleaning of injection equipment * Proper animal handling and interaction * Proper injection site and safety injector technique * Accurate records and documentation of procedures * Execution of QA Supervisor duties as needed * Finishing swine production management standard operating procedures * Quality system development and conducting internal audits * Effective leading and training of contract crews when needed * Communicate customer and product needs internally * Effective communication with customers * Ability to manage activities and lead contract teams to achieve the key performance indicators (KPIs) EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: * Previous experience in swine production is desired * B.S., B.A or 2 year degree in agriculture field with equivalent experience (or equivalent experience) TECHNICAL SKILLS: * Demonstrates knowledge of leading in a culture of accountability * Personal accountability to perform duties with limited direct supervision * Strong relationship building skills * Demonstrated abilities and results in training personnel to excellent implementation * Computer skills – Microsoft and internet applications * Excellent oral and written communication skills (Bilingual Spanish a plus) * Positive attitude towards animal agriculture * Desire for success in an innovative and paradigm changing technology PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS: * Driver”s license with clean driving record * Willing to work inside swine barns (75% of time) * 30% travel required * Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb over gates
