Area Engineering Manager
Position Purpose & SummaryHub Engineering Manager is responsible for leading multifunctional project teams within region of responsibility.? This role is accountable for the development and execution of project scope, schedule, budget, resource needs and operating financials.? This position is responsible for developing and managing all personnel and tasks involved in project management from project development to start-up including construction and commissioning activities.? This position leads the development of project scope, schedule, budget, operating financials (including commitment preparation), staffing plan, and project execution plan including participation of multifunctional teams as applicable to each project.? This? position develops the procurement, bidding and contracting strategies for the project, reviews bid packages and leads the negotiations on equipment, engineering and labor packages.? This person is responsible for determining the appropriate construction management processes considering safety, schedule, efficiency, cost management and documentation.? This person is accountable for meeting all project objectives using the appropriate Project Management practices including PDP, Build, PDRI, and PPM as applicable to each project size and scope.? This position will manage the site engineers within the hub region.Principal Accountabilities25%Defines and is accountable for project objectives and facilitates interaction with project sponsor and stakeholders to ensure alignment of project objectives.? Defines viable alternatives to meet project objectives.? Develops capital budget, schedule, scope, operating costs, resource needs, and benefits for each option. Performs financial analysis on each viable option and selects best option. Writes commitment and charter for funding approval if appropriate.? Fully utilize Project Management Guidelines, PDP, Build, and PPM processes as needed to properly execute project.? Generate project reports as needed to track costs and schedule.20%Process engineering including P&ID development, system throughput calculations, equipment selection, mass/material balance, and energy/utility calculations. Work with engineering firms and vendors to complete above as appropriate.20%Managing project engineers to perform, assist, and/or review capital initiatives for engineering activities at multiple locations within BU to address best practice gaps and execute projects. Establish key measure, best practices and ensure they are adhered to & addressed during project execution.15%Responsible for project team leadership within region of responsibility, organization and alignment.? Manages construction personnel and activities insuring adherence with safety requirements, schedule, scope, change management processes, and budget.10%Develops, reviews and awards bid packages for labor and equipment including contract negotiations in cooperation with Strategic Sourcing and Cargill Law.5%Supports the start-up and commissioning personnel and activities.5%Assist operations with troubleshooting, problem solving and optimization.Skills:
Required Qualifications Bachelor?s of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, Biosystems Engineering or other engineering discipline that has a strong foundation in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mass/material balance and process design.
10 or more years in project engineering and/or operations supervision
Working knowledge of project management practices?
Knowledge of project scheduling techniques
Working knowledge of food safety and EH&S requirements
Demonstrated high levels of organization, communication and documentation skills
Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach and delegate.
Demonstrated ability to work with and/or lead multifunctional teams and personnel
Motivation and ability to execute projects/tasks in a timely manner
Strong prioritization and time management skills

Awareness of standards, codes and specificationsPreferred QualificationsCargill?s Construction Project Management course, food safety training, Build academy completion or relevant previous project experience
Experience/Knowledge of PPM, PDP, Build processes for full rigor projects.? Facilitation of Project Workshops?
Demonstrated project controls skills for budget management and schedule development and execution
Working knowledge of Project Scheduling Software i.e. Microsoft Project
Knowledge of project estimating techniques
Experience outside of project engineering such as operations and maintenance
Basic competencies in food safety, AE&I, GMP, MOC, NFPA, and NEC
Knowledge of SAP ERP system including project management t-codes
Knowledge of Cargill and Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate standards?
Understanding of Sanitary Design
