We are seeking a highly motivated Information Technology Area Leader.  This role is located in Muscatine, IA, reporting to the Finance Business Unit Leader.  This role will lead direct reports ensuring optimization of technology capabilities to increase Manufacturing efficiencies, while aligning with compliance guidance and requirements.  In addition, they will lead the development and implementation of critical IT business applications at a key manufacturing location. Key Responsibilities:Optimize people performance and development through mentoring, coaching, training, recognition, and developmental opportunities.  Responsible for creating progression plans, appraisals/reviews, discipline, and documentation.Execute work as an individual or as part of a team. Manage resources and priorities with plant leadership and global IT teams align plant needs with global IT standards, operating model and foster collaboration with other Crop Protection plants.Manage multiple projects, tasks and responsibilities.Prioritize opportunities/problems based on organizational impact and fit with key objectives.Work with area process engineers to understand their information and automation needs to support process improvement. Use plant data systems in creative ways to support those improvements.Develop detailed requirements for IT system/software implementations.Support day-to-day operation of Plant IT applications and services.Create, review, and execute test plans to make sure solutions address business requirements and end user satisfaction.Support development and improvement through participation on plant and corporate initiatives and committees (includes Six Sigma / LEAN).Work with training resources to develop and deliver end-user training.Direct the work of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) consultants.Support month-end closing activities, such as working with areas to reconcile inventories and understand variances. Qualifications:Required Skills/Experience:Minimum of a Bachelor???s degree in an Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical fieldAt least one year of leadership and management experience in an IT, engineering, manufacturing, agricultural, or office environmentPeople Leadership experience including coaching, influencing, conflict resolution, team/individual goal setting, and effective performance managementStrong skills in communication, time, task, and project management, priority setting, decision making, resource allocation, budgeting and cost managementStrong problem solving and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work well in a team environment and form strong networks & relationshipsStrong desire to learn and develop new skills related to technology and MES software systemsAbility to work well within a culture that values diversityStrong written and oral communication skillsStrong customer focusProficiency in MS Office Desired Skills/Experience:Prior experience working within a manufacturing environmentSAP knowledge, primarily in material management, production process, and QA modulesKnowledge of Simatic IT MES Platform, configuration and/or programmingKnowledge of process optimization principlesWorking knowledge of business support systems Strong personal initiative and demonstrated decision making skillsExperience with IT policy, standards compliance, and ITIL conceptsDemonstrated skills in time management and ability to manage multiple assignmentsDemonstrated knowledge of Six Sigma/LEAN practicesWorking knowledge of ISA-95 manufacturing modelsExperience with administration of Aspen IP.21 and other Aspen manufacturing suite applicationsAbility to analyze business processes and translate them into technology implementations such as software screens, reports, dashboards, and automationBasic understanding of computer networks and network communication Description of Specific Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:  This position is in an office environment of a manufacturing facility.  Routine plant visits and project related work requires that the individual be able to access all areas of the plant.  Access to plant areas may require the ability to ascend and descend ladders / stairs on a regular basis.  Routine tasks encountered during project installations, checkout, and troubleshooting may infrequently require the employee to lift items weighing up to 40 lbs.  Travel is expected on an occasional basis to visit vendors, corporate headquarters, other plant sites, and training classes.  ???Off-hour??? process support may be required.About Us:Bayer successfully completed the acquisition of Monsanto in June 2018, bringing together Monsanto???s leadership in seeds and plant traits with Bayer???s leadership in chemical and biological crop protection.
