Huntsville, ALWhere the Chemistry HappensWe are lookingfor a professional like you who will be responsible for the leadership,management, quality, safety, strategy, and production efficiency of the Heavy-DutySlurry Preparation and Catalyst Coating departments of the Huntsvillesite. The HD Facility produces Dieselcatalysts, primarily for the US heavy duty market. The Production team consists of one ProductionEngineer, four Supervisors, one Training Specialist, and more than 75 hourlystaff across a three-shift 24/5 operation within two departments, Slurry Preparationand Catalyst Coating.In this role, youwill effectively lead the Slurry Prep and Coating Department through anoperational excellence journey and tactical plans that deliver the bestproducts to our customers and profitability to the company. In addition, you will provide strong EHSleadership to your direct team, as well as the Huntsville site overall. You will also provide peer leadership that coordinatessupport to keep the production lines running safely and efficiently. Formulafor SuccessLeveraging your educational background in Engineering,as well as your professional experience in a manufacturing environment, youwill establish strategic goals, objectives, and operational budgets for theproduction team that ensure continuous improvement.Your experience with continuous improvementmethodologies such as LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma will be a plus as you champion new ideas to foster timeliness of product manufacturing to meet orderdemand, product quality, and cost constraints.Your dedication to EHS Excellence will show asyou champion risk exposure reduction activities and setting zero injury andzero loss of containment mindsets. As a trusted people leader, you will build ahigh-performance team by role modeling, coaching, and developing personnelthat exemplify the culture and behaviors aspired to by BASF and the Huntsvillesite. This includes identifying training needs of the production team, andleveraging Learning and Development resources within the organization toprovide necessary training opportunities.Successfully engaging across the site, you willcreate and sustain strong relationships with all levels from senior managementto the shop floor. You will identifysynergies and best practices to enable the strong performance of the Coatingsdepartment.Leading by example, you will promote and rolemodel responsible risk-taking, personal development, customer focus, andcontinuous improvement cultures.Driving strategic decisions for the business,you will monitor/control variable and fixed cost spending budget and capitalspending as well as manage capacity for HD Production Department.
