Area Manager I
The Unit Manager provides support to the processing and production operations of the Pryor, OK site. They manage the operations and maintenance of production equipment. They supervise and insure the safety of the human resources of the departments. They manage costs, quality, waste and on time delivery. Employees in positions at this level of the series manage all production activities within one or more production departments. Provide training and development for subordinates. Has responsibility for subordinate development, safety and performance. Works under general direction. Typical duties of a Unit Manager include: 1. Safely manages a medium (~10,000 MT/yr) to large (~20,000 MT/yr) or larger manufacturing operations and/or operations with moderately complexity and process technology, including the production, manufacturing engineering and warehouse functions. 2. Plans, directs and coordinates the operations of one or more production departments. 3. Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods. 4. Develops manpower requirements and sets priorities for production schedules based on new product introduction, equipment efficiency and materials supply. 5. Development and implementation of productivity and process improvement projects utilizing practices such as Lean and Six Sigma. 6. Lead Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and other safety initiatives and provide safety leadership.7. Develops proposals for capital expenditures and makes budget recommendations for manufacturing operation. Additional responsibilities may include:1. Supervises and coordinates plant manufacturing operations, including production and shipment. 2. Ensures that shipping goals, cost objectives and quality standards are met. 3. Reviews order and production schedules, determines work force required and directs operations through subordinate supervisors. 4. Follows progress of production, anticipates or investigates major causes of delays, and ensures that corrective action is taken. 5. Supervises and coordinates plant manufacturing operations, including production and shipment. 6. Ensures that shipping goals, cost objectives and quality standards are met. 7. Reviews order and production schedules, determines work force required and directs operations through subordinate supervisors. 8. Follows progress of production, anticipates or investigates major causes of delays, and ensures that corrective action is taken. 9. Knowledge of process operations and equipment, quality and safe work practices.?? Working knowledge of production and inventory computer applications?? Ability to manage multiple priorities??
