Assistant Farm Manager Black Gold Farms in Delhi, LA has a new position available for an Assistant Farm Manager. This position has been created to accommodate the growth of our operation. The person in this role will assist all phases of production on the farm to ensure operations are carried out in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner. Key responsibilities for this position include: 1. Supervise field operation crews by organizing responsibilities and communicating work expectations.2. Train and guide field personnel on proper agronomic methods, including tillage, planting, irrigation, and harvest activities.3. Compile crop data and conduct crop production record keeping and reporting responsibilities.4. Maintain, repair, operate and assist with scheduling of irrigation operations.5. Assist with field/crop monitoring. Become familiar with all crop stages and basic weeds, pests, etc.6. Continuously seek out new and innovative farming methods that could be implemented within the organization. Experience desired in employee management, farm equipment operation, general maintenance, basic agronomy, record keeping & Microsoft software programs. One to 3 years of production agriculture experience is required. A bachelor's degree is preferred. Sweet potato experience is not necessary.
