Shawn KinkadeLOCATION: Dalton City, IL?PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT?Responsible for Merchandising, Origination, and Logistics.??SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP?Leads the company?s essential functions in the absence of the General Manager and develops leadership skills with employees through supporting their daily tasks.??ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS?Communicates effectively with farmer patrons to provide the best experience possible.Develops and implements grain merchandising programs including sales and hedging contracts, margins, bids, and open grain positions under the supervision of the General Manager.Works directly with grain accounting staff to assist daily functions such as customer account maintenance and required reporting.Communicates and coordinates with elevator operations managers to ensure adequate quantity and quality of inventories to meet merchandising goals.Ability to determine daily cash bids and monitor surrounding basis markets in the absence of the General Manager.Assists with the development and implementation of grain origination marketing plans.Maintains consolidated daily position and other grain related records.Ensures regulatory compliance with appropriate agencies.?OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS?Follows Heritage Grain?s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply?Performs all other duties as assigned??REQUIREMENTS?Normally requires a college degree, preferably in Ag Economics, Ag Marketing or Agri-Business or the equivalent thereof, and 1 or more years of experience in agricultural marketing and the ability to provide grain merchandising leadership, project management, and negotiation, problem-solving and planning skills?Normally requires a Series III National Commodity Futures Certification or qualified for same within 6 months of assuming the position and prefers knowledge of cooperative philosophies and principles?Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development?Must have and maintain a valid driver?s license and clean driving record?Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight when necessary?Must be willing to work extended hours beyond those considered ?normal??Occasionaly lift 21-50 lbs?Occasionally performs work in extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)Occasionally performs duties around noisy conditionsWorking conditions may include dust and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measuresAbility and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on Heritage Grain?s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position?Apply for this job.
