Description: Assistant Physical Plant manager reports to the Physical Plant Manager and provides leadership to Physical Plant employees to reach division and company goals. The Assistant Physical Plant Manager should be able to do all daily functions of the Physical Plant Manager. Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:30pm; times may vary based on business needs, on-call and some weekend’s necessary. Compensation: Hourly, competitive based on experience, excellent benefits package, plus $100.00 monthly phone allowance, and mileage reimbursement. Essential Job Functions:Work collaboratively with Farm Managers, Supervisors and Employees to maintain and repair HFI owned facilities.Ability to lead and manage 8-12 employees in Physical Plant Manager’s absenceHelp coordinate and provide cost estimates of project materials to divisions requesting work repairs.Responsible for Manure nutrient management plan, follow state, local, and, federal regulations for manure management.Responsible for application and removal for all manure in HFI owned facilities.Responsible for Yearly NPDES and other state MPCA permitsCoordinate and execute repair requests for HFI divisions that have employees and our company owned assets, including but not limited to Sow, gilt, nursery, finishing, research farms, employee housing, office, trucking division, Market Turkey division, shop, sheds, and any other physical property owned and operated by HFI.Provide expertise on possible minor and major facility remodel and or additions.Manage HFI owned equipment and inventory controlManage and coordinate vendor repairs and planned preventative maintenancePrioritize open work orders and projects to ensure completion in a timely mannerComplete work orders and projects to Supervisions expectations while at an economical cost while maintaining appropriate quality.Participate and or responsible for on-site walk-throughs evaluating future facility and equipment requirements, upgrades or replacementsTroubleshoot and diagnose problems with electrical, ventilation, and other facility challenges to find plausible solutionsEnsure that all best management practices are consistent with commonly accepted standards for animal welfareNegotiating with vendors on supplying similar quality products replacement parts, material, and equipment at economical pricesUpdate and maintain complete an accurate records for service workUnderstand and follow Holden Farms Biosecurity ProgramWork with live production team and veterinarians on snow plowing, weed and rodent control, lawn mowing, etc. while maintaining biosecurity.Responding to emergency issues, including but not limited to, fires, tornados, truck roll overs, flooding, etc.Oversee HFI safety DivisionResource for HFI permits and working with state and local feedlot and DNR authoritiesOther duties as assigned, such as but not limited to, assisting in bird movements Education/Experience:High School Diploma, or equivalentBachelor Degree in Management or relevant experience preferredRepair and maintenance experience requiredProficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate othersStrong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to have difficult conversations and achieve desired resultsExcellent troubleshooting and problem solving skillsAbility to lead others in high demand situationsStrong interest in team building and staff developmentOrganized with strong attention to detailSelf-motivated and hard-workingAbility to stand, walk and be on feet for 8 to 10hrs/dayAbility to frequently bend, reach, squat and kneel Benefits:Medical/Dental/VisionLife Insurance401(k) + 3% Company ContributionProfit SharingShort Time Disability/Long Term DisabilityPaid HolidaysPTOMuch More!
