Overview:The Forage Improvement Division of the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation seeks applicants for a 100% research position as Assistant/Associate Professor of Plant Breeding. The incumbent will join a vigorous interdisciplinary team of researchers developing improved forage cultivars for sustainable farming systems and expanding scientific knowledge about plant improvement. The successful candidate will be expected to lead a breeding program focused on cultivar development of forage legumes and cover crops (alfalfa and annual legumes) and to collaborate with faculty members within and outside the Noble Foundation. The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation has state-of- the-art research facilities, modern laboratory and office areas and access to diverse field locations. This position comes with generous base funding. Salary is highly competitive and dependent on qualifications and experience. Responsibilities:The successful applicant will be expected to develop a nationally recognized legume field breeding program integrating molecular and genomic methodologies. Qualifications:A minimum of a Doctorate in Plant Breeding, Genetics, Crop Science, Agronomy or Plant Biology with 3 years of relevant research experience which may include graduate training or postdoctoral experience is required. Highly motivated individuals with a background in plant breeding, statistics, quantitative genetics or crop physiology are encouraged to apply.
