Associate Controls Engineer
CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Processing & Food Ingredients Division. We are looking for a Controls Engineer to join our growing team. You will maintain Processing and Refining PLCs and programs. You must be a self-starter, organized and detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and able to work well independently.You will:Develop, maintain, document and troubleshoot process control PLC?s, computers, servers, networks and programs for all Oilseed Processing facilities.Participate in the selection and installation of process controls and computers with interface to control instrumentation.Create and maintain plant data collection and reporting systems.Program Allen Bradley / Rockwell PLC?s in ladder logic, create and maintain equipment tag database and configure HMI screens.Maintain documentation and records for the process control and computer systems.Understand and draw electrical wiring diagrams.Collaborate and work with outside vendors, contractors, production and engineering.Provide after-hours support as needed.Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. Basic Qualifications: (required)Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Additional experience may offset degree.5 plus years of experience in computers, electronics and PLC?s with a full understanding of interface between field instrumentation, PLC?s and computersProficient in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to travel up to 30%Preferred Qualifications: (desired)Experience with Rockwell Historian/OSI Pi and VantagePoint data collection and reporting systemsExperience with SQL database administrationExperience with Microsoft Visual Studio and .NET programmingExperience with field instrumentation, AutoCAD and Allen Bradley PLC programmingApply for this job.
