We currently have an Associate Marketing Manager – Product position available at our Simplot Headquarters in Boise, ID. SUMMARYManages cross-functional category marketing plans. The associate marketing manager assists in delivering volume and profit objectives for assigned categories. The position works closely with Simplot indirect/direct Sales teams as well as the R&D and Manufacturing/Ops teams. Works closely with a Director or Senior Marketing Manager to learn and develop the skills to become a Marketing Manager. This is an entry level position. Impact to P&L will be limited to small categories not exceeding 3 million dollars (contribution margin) with less complexity (i.e. fewer skus, processes at fewer plants). May be assigned to work on large product categories under direction of a Senior Marketing Manager or Director. RESPONSIBILITIESWork closely with outside service providers such as advertising agency, research providers and fulfillment companies to develop strong understanding of market and category dynamics and communicate key insights to the organization.Participate in development of strategy & execution of product line optimization. Encompass brand consolidation, line extensions, SKU rationalization, product improvements, & strategic cost-cutting. The plans impact NAFG s manufacturing footprint requiring collaboration w/sales, demand planning, R&D, manufacturing, & supply chain. Assist/manage 2 or less sub/categories. Work directly with two or less Manufacturing facilities. Number of products managed is less than 50 SKUs. May work on product lines with many SKUs where the marketing complexity is very limited. *Numbers are subject to change.Conduct quarterly market visits with Sales/Sales Agents to help drive alignment, develop understanding of the customer and assist in validating marketing program effectiveness.Manage assigned annual marketing budget for maximum return on investment. REQUIREMENTSEducation: Bachelor's Degree from 4 year college or universityDemonstrates basic knowledge of marketing principles including market research.Ability to understand P&L financials and understand and analyze financial data. Ability to manage priorities and projects. Capable interpersonal and written skills. Capable project management skills. Distinguishing Features: Ability to communicate cross-functionally and articulate marketing strategy.
