You will “be hands on” during the napkin drawing to completion process. You will be part of a collaborative team.Job Responsibilities of the Automaton Engineer:Provides strategic leadership, design, and technical guidance with regard to automation solutions and maintenance/integration requirements to Production Management team. Primary function and role will deal with the conception, design, development and integration of robotic/automation systems for new or existing processes to insure efficiency and quality. Your Electrical background and expertise will prove beneficial working with PLC”s, motors, switches in the design of the product. * Provide strategic guidance and direction with regard to use of automation to foster continual improvement in production activities and new manufacturing solutions. * Provide advanced technical expertise (i.e. mechanical design, electrical/controls design, process control, programming, vision systems, safety circuit design, etc.) and judgment to provide robotic/automation systems. * Provide guidance and technical expertise at all facilities * Take a project from the conceptual stage through to completion, taking into account budgeting and operational considerations. * Develop the specifications for all equipment that is required for each project. * Communicate and partner with various support departments to resolve automation issues. * Identify and facilitate continuous improvement / cost reduction efforts by developing new solutions. * Manage automation projects where appropriate and deliver scope within cost, quality and time expectations. * Lead/supervisor role in design, integration, programming, troubleshooting, technical support, training, and maintenance of robotic/automation systems as well as provide detailed documentation during and upon project completion. * Keep current with automation innovation and technologies that would benefit company to insure that we continually benchmark our current performance with that of leading operations in related industries. * Participate in regularly scheduled management meetings as assigned. * Other duties and projects as assigned.JOB REQUIEMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS of then Automations Engineer: * Bachelor”s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, and/or Robotics or related field or equivalent experience. * Minimum 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment in the design, integration, and programming of automation and robotics systems and equipment. * Advanced technical, mechanical and programming skills with a strong working knowledge of electrical control and safety systems including related schematics and diagrams. * Proven ability to create “big picture” perspective and vision for the future based upon company needs and objectives. * Requires taking a high degree of ownership while completing assignments with minimal supervision and making complex decisions to accomplish stated objectives and deliver quality results with attention to detail. * Effectively communicate with personnel from all groups to successfully manage project priorities and complete job objectives on time and within budget. * Proficient in troubleshooting, problem solving, technical support and training of personnel on various automated equipment. * Significant problem solving skills with proven track record of resolving major issues at their root cause through working with the engineering, technical and operational teams. * Precision oriented professional with excellent organizational, prioritization and project development skills. * Must be comfortable with integrating new technology into an existing business environment. * Good problem solving and documentation skills. * PC computer skills (i.e. Windows, Microsoft Excel, Word, Access).Please contact Stu Burgers directly at 605-978-5476 for more information on this or any other positions you may be interested.
