The Automation Technician will have direct interface with maintenance, operations & management staff. As an Automation Technician you will program, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic automated pharmaceutical manufacturing assembly line systems, including electro-mechanical control systems, robotic systems, programmable logic controls, pneumatic systems, and vision inspection systems. Automation experience may include: Allen Bradley, B&R, or Elau PLC”s, general knowledge of VFD”s and servo”s, working knowledge with P&ID”s and electrical diagrams , and wiring control panels. The Automation Technician role will be responsible for the following activities: * General Responsibilities
* Provide support and troubleshooting for all PLC, HMI, Robotic, and Vision systems for the plant * Provide higher level support to the production and maintenance techs for troubleshooting issues * Assist with the installation, production start-up, and validation of automation systems * Assist in identifying root cause of faults and production errors * Working closely with Production, Maintenance and other departments to plan work activities * Continue to learn the craft of controls and automation, researching “state-of-the-art” equipment and how it could be utilized on the manufacturing floor * Ability to integrate new devices into legacy systems * Work as part of a larger team to ensure maximum system uptime and performance * Projects
* Support engineering during proposing, design, and execution of automation projects * Assist with the installation, production start-up, and validation of automation systems * Interface with external engineering firms to ensure accuracy of drawings and documentation submittals

* Drawings * SOPs * Test Plans * Equipment Standards EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * Journeyman”s Certification in Automation with 1 – 3 years” experience preferably in a validated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment * Knowledge of respective automation techniques, practices, precedents, theory and principles * Demonstrated technical knowledge and expertise with drug product manufacturing and packaging equipment and utility systems and equipment (boilers, HVAC/R units, purified water systems). Understanding of GMP manufacturing processes, equipment, and facilities. * Cognizance of the state-of-the-art in the industry to assure the company utilizes current technology. * Experience with AutoCadd a plus * Good communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to interact with all levels of the Zoetis organization. Can articulate issues and solutions to the team. Can produce effective project reports and presentations. * Position requires daily or frequent interaction with Engineering Director, Maintenance Leads, Production Management and Supervision, Engineers, Quality Operations, Maintenance Technicians, Production Operators, Contractors, and Vendors. * Can analyze problems and provide support in determining appropriate corrective and preventative actions, with minimal assistance. * Capable of simultaneously managing multiple assignments. Prioritizes own work. Flexible and responsive to changes. Ability to work alone with minimal direct supervision.
