Bakery Division of Tyson Foods in Green Bay was founded in 1981 to serve local and regional frozen pizza manufacturers from its base of operations in northeastern Wisconsin. The plant operates two bakeries in Green Bay with more than 100,000 square feet of production space. Also, annually produces more than 200 million crusts in both par-baked and self-rising varieties.SUMMARY: The Automation Technician position is technical career employment in Tyson Foods, Incorporated. This position requires proficiency in multiple skill clusters including PLC, variable-frequency drives, electricity and electronics, fluid power, mechanical systems, and manufacturing processes. The Automation Technician will perform high-level machine and systems troubleshooting and repair, assist engineering and plant staff with the specification, installation, and modification of integrated systems, and provide technical support for all phases of the operation. Must be able to work 1st shift, be available on-calls, work overtime and weekends when required.REQUIREMENTS Education: Training beyond high school including either: An Associate (A.S.) degree in Electronics Technology (or closely related technical field), or A combination of education and experience which may include Skilled Trades programs or military training. Experience: Minimum of 4 years automation experience and/or industrial maintenance experience; proven good safety and attendance record along with strong interpersonal skills.Computer Skills: Competent in Windows-based software, such as Microsoft Excel andWord. Strong skills in document organization, the use of technical materials, and research techniques. Must either be proficient or become proficient in SAP Maintenance. (If installed at the facility.) Communication Skills: Reading and writing fluency in English. High level oral communications, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. The ability to function effectively in a team environment, and interact productively with all levels of management and operations personnel.Preferred Skills: (possession of one or more of these skills is a plus) Proficiencies to include electronic devices and their operating characteristics and electronic circuit design. Logic circuit operation using integrated circuits andcombination logic circuits, and industrial semiconductors such as SCR's, FET's, UJT's, triacs and power control circuits.Experience with Windows-based operating system, word processing, database management, and spreadsheet software. Computer program design techniques, program development processes, abstractions, and basic data structures. Basic microcomputer skills including typical microcomputer architecture, I/O and interfacing concepts, hardware/software interaction andapplications and programming languages and techniques, including software troubleshooting.Experience in PLC operation to include basic system configurations and hardware, relay-equivalent instructions, timers/counters, data manipulation, data communications and advanced programming commands; as well as interfacing, troubleshooting, and application and program development. Special Skills: Display sound judgment, leadership, organizational skills and the ability to work independently with little supervision.
