Automation / IT Superintendent ADM Nutrition Specialty IngredientsSoy Protein Complex, (East Plant) Decatur, ILThis is a full time, exempt positionDescription:The Automation / I.T. Superintendent will be responsible for leading the I.T./Automation and PC Support team in both supporting plant staff and improving plant operations.
In addition to maintaining current systems, this position will be responsible for driving continuous improvement of process controls and identifying and implementing technology improvements to better support systems/process control and reliability, communication, data collection and retrieval as well as those systems which support the effectiveness of personnel.
Requirements:Engineering/Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or 3-5 years automation experience.Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements. Capable of safely working with and around voltages of 120VAC, understanding of analog and digital signals related to process controls.Mentor and develop team members by providing guidance, training resources and individual development plans for strong cross-dimensional team.
Perform as a team member and leading the planned, preventative, and/or predictive maintenance activities that support the electrical and process control systems of the plant. Communicate job status and support requirements with co-workers and management and effective use of time while completing the assigned tasks.The ideal candidate will have experience with or the ability to perform automation and controls audits at the facility. The candidate must be able to review and document process control systems to develop automation and control performance metrics as well as recognize optimization opportunities. This shall include recognition of risks to safety, production or quality related to process control systems and automation.Knowledge of various PC operating systems, and the ability to develop & troubleshoot software and hardware to communicate with Process Control Systems from the field and operator interfaces. Develop Process Control Systems that have personal and process safety as part of the overall control strategy, and the ability to migrate existing legacy applications and I/O to current PLC platforms.
Programming and application experience with Wonderware, RSlogix 5, 500 & 5000 and experience with Rockwell PlantPAx distributed control system.Ability to read and understand control schematic diagrams and flowcharts including PFDs and P&IDs.The ability to develop and follow written standards and support process applications based upon those standards. The ideal candidate would have experience with writing and developing standards/control narratives for process control systems or applications.Experience in one or more programming or scripting languages such as Java, VB, VBA, VB.NET, C, and C # is a plus.The candidate must be capable of working in extreme temperatures. Must have the ability to climb stairs, lift and move a minimum of 40 pounds, and sit and stand for long periods of time.
