GeneralThe NA Global Business Services team has an opening for a full-time accountant in the Decatur office within our Balance Sheet Reconciliation Team.
This job will have flexible hours able to accommodate most schedules. The successful candidate will be engaged in a wide variety of activities focused on reconciliations.
The position will be involved with many of ADM's accounting systems, along with other systems used by controlling colleagues.
The level of work will depend on the abilities and experience of the candidate. Experience:Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Job Requirements:Technical and Performance Skills DesiredKnowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, MS Outlook, etc.) JDE, Agris, Maximo and IBM systems are a plus.Ability to function independently in a deadline oriented environmentA team player with strong customer service skills Strong problem solving and critical thinking skillsFlexible, willing to do what it takes to get the task completedDependable and desire to learn with a positive attitudeAbility to effectively communicate, facilitate, and cross-train Interpersonal ability to actively listen, clarify, lead, or channel a discussion Prior experience in Accounting functions, specifically performing reconciliations and identifying/correcting outstanding reconciling itemsStrong understanding of internal controls and Accounting standards and principles Responsibilities: Perform various balance sheet account reconciliations for NA balance sheet accounts, ensuring that balances on the reconciliation tie to the ledger, and that all variances are accounted for within the reconciliation template.Strong emphasis on Bank Reconciliations.
Performing monthly ledger to bank statement reconciliations.Ability to effectively analyze accounts to ensure balance contains only legitimate activity and that accounts are being used appropriately.Proactively detect errors when reconciling, and ensure that these are corrected timely.Work to identify and resolve outstanding reconciling items ? including maintaining accurate records and properly reporting in a timely manner.Review reconciliations as assigned, checking to ensure reconciliation is completely and accurately performed, policies are being followed, and reconciling items are proactively investigated and corrected. Work efficiently and expediently to accomplish set goals for reconciliations. Provide outstanding customer service for ADM?s Internal and External Customers.Effectively plan to define outcomes, identify changes, and implement solutions.Ensure compliance with all ADM policies and procedures.Recommend, develop, and implement process and system improvements to improve efficiency and strengthen controls.Interaction with multiple levels of accounting, IT, Internal Audit, and commercial and operational management.Relocation assistance is available with this position.
