Position Summary:ADM is seeking a Barge Dispatcher to coordinate pick up and deliver of barges at our American River Transportation Company (ARTCo) fleeting location in Waggaman, LA. Job Responsibilities:Coordinate harbor traffic for third-party fleets and charter boatsReview, update and execute orders for boat/barge deliveries to maximize efficiencyMonitor emails and phone calls for barge orders and process data entryMonitor, update and communicate ship list and schedules for ARTCo Stevedoring, line boat orders, barge pick-ups and fleet spaceProcess barge billingAdditional duties and responsibilities as required or requestedParticipate in safety and industry audits while promoting a culture of safety
Job Requirements:2-4 year degree or equivalent, relative work experienceMarine dispatch experience preferredPromote the ADM Way and core ValuesAble to communicate with all levels of the organizationMust have a demonstrated history of safe work behavior and a sincere desire to follow and improve upon safety policies and proceduresProficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, and WordExperience in logistics and/or planning preferredProblem solving and conflict resolutionCritical and creative thinkingDemonstrate time management and organization skillsParticipate and lead strategic discussions and decisionsParticipate in continuous improvement projectsAbility to work rotating shifts, longer working hours, weekends and holidays Physical Requirements: Requires sitting and working at a computer for long periods of timeAbility to get on and off of vessels as neededMust be able to stay focused and multitask proficiently in an open office environmentRelocation assistance is available with this position.
