At Bayer you have the opportunity to be part of a culture where we value the passion of our employees to innovate and give them the power to change.Bayer Animal Health Incoming Quality and Quality Control Chemistry ManagerYOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe primary responsibilities of this role, Bayer Animal Health Manager of Incoming Quality and Quality Control Chemistry are to: Provide leadership and direction to the supervisors for all Incoming quality and Chemistry laboratory activities associated with the Receipt, inspection, sampling, testing and release of raw materials, components, in-process materials, finished products, and stability samples;Participate as site technical expert in the development of local, divisional and corporate policies, directives and systems relating to analytical sampling and testing;Be responsible for developing and managing Incoming and Chemistry laboratory department budget in excess of $2 million. In addition, this position must support all local, divisional and corporate financial goals and objectives;Direct the development and qualification of new analytical methods and procedures in the laboratories that support current and new processes or products;Serve as principle receiving Laboratory for Animal Health Research and Development;Develop and implement department strategies, policies, procedures and metrics to effectively control operations in order to maximize efficiency, capacity utilization, quality, safety and regulatory compliance in support of the Animal Health Business goals and objectives;Assure that all laboratory test equipment, test methods, procedures and facilities are developed, maintained and operated in accordance with Bayer Directives and Food Drug Administration, European Union, Environmental Protection Agency, Occupational Safety Health Association and other applicable regulatory agency requirements;Recruit, train and develop professional and technically competent laboratory supervisors and staff members to manage the activities and operations within the Incoming Quality and Chemistry laboratory;Be responsible for the Animal Health United States stability program to ensure validity of marketed product expiration dates;Conduct special studies to support critical changes in components of drug products;Oversee the preparation, review and submittal of stability reports for all Food Drug Administration products;Ensure the stability program is consistent with state-of-the-art procedures and protocols and current Food Drug Administration and International requirements. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:Required Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Chemistry/ Technical Sciences with 8-10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience with knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Drug Administration regulations and guidance;Pharmaceutical analytical lab experience of at least 10 years with hands-on experience in Quality Control laboratory operations with additional experience in Chemistry;Knowledgeof current methods of chemical analysis with a solid understanding of the instrumentation and software used within these laboratories;Ability to evaluate requirements and establish priorities to ensure accurate data are obtained and communicated to customers in a timely manner;Excellent knowledge of drug regulations (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), Environmental Protection Agency regulations, & Cosmetic Regulations;Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills;Must be able to interface positively with Clients, Regulatory Agencies, Vendors and Company departments. Preferred Qualifications: Masters Degree in Chemistry with 4-6 years of pharmaceutical industry experience.
