POSITION PURPOSE:The purpose of this job is to perform biodiesel operational functions in order to benefit internal and external customers of Renewable Energy Group (REG), ensuring quality biodiesel, soybean oil, glycerine, and fatty acid production, while maintaining clean, safe, and well-kept facilities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ability to operate the biodiesel master computer system. This includes operations of the main master control, process production system along with recording data and generating system reports on a timely basisPerform various quality control functions on oil, biodiesel, glycerine, fatty acid, and water, visual inspection of all types of inventory, measuring physical inventory on a periodic basis and operation of lab equipment according to procedureContribute to manufacturing, packaging, and the loading of specialty oil productsAbility to perform all types of general facility maintenance and housekeeping, including equipment inspection, repairs, adjustments and monitoring throughout the facilityAssist with managing and overseeing the production in the biodiesel manufacturing plantLearn equipment maintenance of all mechanical operations at the facilityAssist with planning and scheduling biodiesel production to meet customer and intra-company demand in the most efficient mannerMonitor and continually improve quality control in all aspects of biodiesel operationMake recommendation on improving production efficiency at the facilitiesMaintain an acceptable plant appearance (neat and clean) for potential and existing Renewable Energy Group customersFollow all safety guidelines regulated by REG, OSHA, or other regulatory agencies. Serve on REG safety committee and conduct regular biodiesel department safety meetingsMaintain inventory of supplies including containers, labels and other supplies. Individual will price, purchase and approve payment of supplies and repairs needed for biodiesel operationsAssist in handling customer complaints and follow-upsSchedule and maintain housekeeping, including maintaining a clean, well-kept appearance in the facility, outside grounds, and equipmentAssist in training and development of customers that purchase plants from REG Perform other duties as assigned JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Education required:Process Technology degree or 5 years process experience required. Experience required:3 to 5 years general work experience preferred. Previous chemical processing or related experience preferred.Skills required:General knowledge of computers, basic mechanical and electrical skills, and attention to detail.Apply for this job.
