San Diego, CAWhere the Chemistry HappensWe are seeking a talented self-starter like you who can solve problems creatively, communicate effectively, and collaborate well with project leaders, team members, and customers.  You will have the opportunity to work autonomously and as part of a team to design, implement, and support software applications for biological sequence analysis, genomics and metagenomics.Formula for Success  Leveraging your education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline and your research experience, you will design, develop, and maintain software through the full product life cycle. Additionally, you will perform integration work with current enterprise applications.Demonstrating your strong knowledge of a variety of programming and scripting languages (Python and Java) combined with your knowledge of relational databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle) and database design, you will develop data analysis and reporting capabilities and create both development and end user documentation. Your knowledge of Perl, JavaScript, Shell Scripting in Linux and Windows environments will also enable you to successfully integrate legacy code. Your robust scientific analytical skills will be vital as you analyze biological data including gene structure, DNA and protein sequences as well as eukaryotic, prokaryotic and metagenomic datasets to help guide laboratory experiments.As a subject matter expert and a leader, you will provide creativity and technical leadership.Your robust problem-solving skills will be a valued asset as you monitor daily operations and troubleshoot problemsUsing your skills in collaboration and passion for innovation, you will promote and develop communication with IT to integrate information systems with the needs of the R&D organizationCreate Your Own Chemistry: What We Offer YouAdding value to our customers begins with adding value to you.
