Mankind is challenged with feeding the earth???s population, which will require 55% more food in the next 20 years than it can currently produce. Monsanto provides integrated agricultural solutions to farmers around the world from chemistry, biologicals, and biotechnology to field scripts. This internship will provide an opportunity to work closely with highly trained research scientists and engineers who are part of this innovation at Monsanto. We are seeking a highly motivated student to join the Molecular Cell Sciences team within the Plant Biotechnology Organization. This individual will bring creative thinking and apply his/her knowledge in assisting system improvement of biological workflow for better efficiency and ergo friendliness. Responsibilities include: Providing input on new technologies and creative ideas for system improvement.Contributing to the design, testing, optimization and implementation of the tools and apparatus at different scales for diverse biological workflows including manual and automated imaging systems. Working and communicating closely with the team for progress and results. Dates for this internship are May 13-August 2 of 2019. Qualifications:Required: Current enrollment at a university within the U.S., pursuing a B.S., M.S or Ph.D degree in Biomedical EngineeringCumulative GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scaleEligible candidates must be returning to school to continue program of study following completion of summer internshipStrong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively Class credit on Biology or related fields Experience in biological science research team project or working in biological research labs highly desiredApply for this job.
