We currently have a position available at our Corporate facility in Boise, ID.

SUMMARYEntry-level Greenhouse Assistant is part of the Plant Sciences research team and supports activities aimed toward improving agricultural crops. The work week would be a 5 day, 8 hour per day schedule with one of the 5 days being a Saturday or Sunday. RESPONSIBILITIESBasic computer skills needed for data entry for statistical analysis.Assist with documentation of regulated plant material movement between Caldwell and Boise Greenhouses under the supervision of the Greenhouse manager and Team Manager.Routine care of plants in research greenhouses (planting, watering, fertilizing and general pest control) in Boise and Caldwell under the supervision of a Greenhouse Manager.Assist with routine maintenance of the greenhouses and cold storage units as necessary.Valid Idaho drivers license and willingness to commute between Caldwell and Boise in a company vehicle or reimbursed using a personal vehicle would be required.Occasionally assist with lab or field projects, such as planting or harvesting, under the supervision of the respective manager.
REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, or related field preferred.One plus years related experience.The successful applicant will have a good grasp of simple horticultural practices and procedures and will be able to identify and scout for common greenhouse and crop pests. Knowledge of integrated pest management and greenhouse functions are a plus. Applicant must be willing and able to obtain Idaho Private Pesticide Applicator's License and Idaho Chemigation License within 6 months of hire. Applicant must be able to lift 50 pounds. Combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered for this position.
