About this JobThis role will lead a team whose responsibility is to conduct business strategy analytics including leading various studies that may incorporate analyzing, reviewing, forecasting, trending, and presenting information for operational and business planning purposes across sales, marketing, operations, R&D and supply chain. This role will support short and long term operational/strategic business activities – by developing, enhancing and maintaining operational information and models. This role will also develop and implement effective/strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes. This role is a working manager role with 50% of the time guiding the team and 50% of the time performing analysis. In addition, this role will act as a liaison between business teams and the Digital Data Teams responsible for supporting our data acquisition needs. This role will work closely with our Head of Sales, Head of Marketing, Head of Production & Supply as well as the Head of Finance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Lead a team of 6-8 analysts Partner with the Head of Insights & Analytics in creating the capabilities road map and execute against that roadmap. Anticipate customer needs related to business strategy requiring data driven analytics and proactively develops solutions to meet them: Implement a process to manage incoming analysis requests and report on the value the team is generating: o Gather, Analyze and Define Business Requirements o Develop and implement innovative approaches to addressing strategic business challenges
Identify and/or establish appropriate testing metrics/targets to validate that business requirements are being met.
Serve as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues.
Solve complex problems and develops innovative solutions.
Forecast and plan project requirements: o Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders (e.g., business owners, process owners, domain experts) to scope and implement business requirements o Provide explanations and information to others on the complex issues o Motivate and inspires others including team members o Review work performed by others and provides recommendations for improvement o Review the work of others when appropriate o Serve as a leader/ mentor
Demonstrate Business and Industry Knowledge. Responsibilities Participate in the definition of project roles to drive the gathering of detailed business, functional and non-functional requirements and own delivery where appropriate.
Identify applicable technical and business stakeholders, using appropriate. Stakeholder Analysis tools/approaches (e.g., RACI, SIPOC).
Collaborate with technology stakeholders (e.g., System Analysts, architects) to communicate business and technical requirements.
Define the approach and effort required for defining business requirements (i.e., business, functional and non-functional).
Define and update the project schedule to track/measure progress of the requirements-gathering process (e.g., status, milestones, tasks, and deliverables).
Define approach for storing and updating business requirements (e.g., SharePoint).
Partner with applicable stakeholders to identify the operational impact of changes within defined solutions.

Demonstrated business analytical skills, evidenced by demonstrated impact on revenue generation, profitability enhancement, operational efficiency enhancement, etc. in previous roles.
7+ years of experience leading analytic projects including: o Personal accountability for developing and delivering business analytics output o Personal responsibility for interpreting results of analysis, identifying variances/trends/root cause and providing solutions to customers and leaders o Personal responsibility in developing viable strategic insights and recommendations with key business partners and team leaders
Proficient working with business analytics tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, SAS, Tableau, Qlik, Etc.
Experience leading a team of analysts supporting a sales or marketing organization.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, Traits & Abilities
Advanced degree in business strategy, economics, or related field.
7 + years of increasing and relevant experience in business analytics or corporate strategy.
Proven delivery of tangible results through cross-functional collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a highly matrixed organization.
Experience with analytical tools such as Excel, SAS, and visualization tools such as Tableau or Qlik.
Experience with agriculture data or industry; familiarity with Syngenta a plus.
Strong business acumen and professional communication skills written & oral.
A track record of driving change through the use of data.
