Middle GeorgiaWhere the ChemistryHappensWe're looking for a someonelike you who will support Operations, Process Engineering, and R&D in thefield of high temperature calcination. You will achieve and maintain BASF?stechnological leadership at our Middle Georgia Site by developing innovativesolutions for BASF operations, improving methods for future developments, andadvancing new technologies.Formulafor Success Leveragingyour PhD education in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or CeramicEngineering and your experiencein research and development both on the theoretical, methodological side aswell as on the experimental side, you will be responsible for planning,supervising, and analyzing experiments. You should additionally have a strong understanding of the fundamentalsof heat and mass transfer, fluid dynamics, and reaction engineering. Utilizingyour experience in high temperature reaction engineering (such as would occurin continuous or batch calciners, kilns, or furnaces) coupled with significantexperience in research and development, you will be responsible for theexecution of optimization projects by follow global process engineering designrules and best practices and document according results. Experience in thedesign, optimization, and trouble-shooting of industrial sized continuous orbatch calciners, kilns, or furnaces, in addition to experience in solidshandling, surface chemistry, solid state chemistry, off-gas analytics, andprocess development and scale-up, will be considered an asset.Your strong project managementexperience will be essential as you execute the of optimizationprojects, participation site wide operational excellence activities and executemore complex projects under guidance of manager through the following of globalprocess engineering design rules & best practices and documenting accordingresults.Successfullyengaging inside and outside the organization, you will cultivatepartnerships with assigned project manufacturing representatives to executeprojects from initial scoping and funding to final documentation and closure.
