Capital Markets Lending Specialist
Position Overview:This position comprehensively supports the business development activities in the multi-lender and syndicated loan market for food companies, agribusinesses, large-scale agricultural producers and rural utilities.Essential Functions: * Develops and prepares quantitative and qualitative business analysis, partnering with the Enterprise Financial Management team to deliver financial reporting and effective business planning. * Coordinates with the Credit department in the preparation of credit applications. * Assists in the tracking of credit actions and preparation of monthly Board reports. * Prepares credit narratives and assists in providing analysis used in determining credit worthiness. * Researches and compiles data from financial information systems (Bloomberg), databases and other data sources. * Monitors secondary market trading levels and activity of current and prospective borrowers. * Assists in the identification of new business prospects. * Reviews and advises on servicing actions, including amendments and waivers. * Assists in the preparation of eligibility opinions, reputation risk assessments and ROE calculations. * In coordination with Legal department, ensures credit and security documentation is satisfactory.Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Bachelor”s degree in finance, accounting, economics, agribusiness or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. * Minimum 1-2 years of experience in capital markets, credit or financing alternatives preferably in a commercial banking environment. * Basic knowledge of credit structuring fundamentals. * Ability to multi-task, prioritize and schedule work and projects effectively with minimal supervision. * Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, banking trends and techniques, and their applications. * Excellent problem solving and decision making skills and the ability to creatively present the results of research and analysis to impact opinion. * Ability to perform accurately and timely under tight deadlines. Attention to detail is critical. * Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of management and team. * Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Powerpoint, etc.). * Responsible to appropriately protect the confidentiality, security and integrity of the organization”s systems and data and clients” data. * Some overnight travel required.
