Cash Operations and Regulatory Reporting Manager
CHS has an exciting opportunity in our CHS Hedging division. CHS Hedging is an agriculture focused Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) with clearing memberships at the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) and Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX). We are looking for a Cash Operations and Regulatory Reporting Manager that will have preparation and reporting responsibility for critical regulatory reports to our regulatory agencies, which includes the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), and MGEX.
This role will also execute, manage, forecast and monitor daily cash movements with customers, exchanges, and clearing brokers. This includes execution and oversight of the investments of the FCM (Futures Commission Merchant).You must have a strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
You must also have the ability to function in a highly regulated compliance environment and manage multiple, competing priorities with strong organizational and leadership skills.
In this position you will be responsible for the following:Responsible for the preparation and review of regulatory and risk reports for CHS Hedging, a registered FCM, and associated submission to regulatory agencies. This includes daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.Accountable for maintaining the accuracy of the FCM?s regulatory reporting and associated general ledger balances and ensuring that the data reported is complete and accurate.Ensure general ledger and transaction system are properly recorded and reconciled to third party sources and are in compliance with both GAAP and CFTC requirements. Responsible for working with regulatory and external auditors, which includes providing support for audits and answering questions.Responsible for daily cash planning, forecasting and settlements from customers, exchanges, and other clearing brokers. This includes ensuring all CFTC regulations are followed in the handling of segregated customer funds.Oversee the investment and associated settlement of the Firm?s investments as is permitted under CFTC Regulation 1.25 and ensure all regulatory requirements associated with investments are tracked and monitored.Lead, train and develop the team to ensure full coverage of critical daily functions including full understanding of applicable CFTC regulations and continue to educate on the importance of their role to the overall regulatory success of the business unit.Maintenance and development of policies and procedures to maintain the FCM?s compliance environment.Foster and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.Basic Qualifications: (required)Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree7+ years? experience including;3+ years? experience in a supervisor roleStrong organizational and leadership skillsHigh attention to detail and level of accuracyAdvanced skills with Excel and complex spreadsheetsPreferred Qualifications: (desired)Experience with regulated environments such as SEC and CFTCExperience with treasury/cash operationsUnderstanding of derivatives activity and related accounting, particularly futures and options.Previous experience in the financial services industry, particularly a FCM (Futures Commission Merchant)Experience answering regulatory audit inquiriesExperience preparing written reports to regulatory entitiesCPA or equivalent a plus
