SUMMARY: This position is responsible for leading team members who manage procurement activities within assigned categories in the food ingredients area. This position is responsible for developing procurement programs which optimize the value for the company for items and services sourced. Other responsibilities include: developing and maturing supplier relationships to ensure targeted departmental and company objectives are met; developing Category Management overviews, risk management assessments, business continuity plans, market driver assessments and accompanying price mitigation, company and supplier strategy along with supplier measurements. Other duties include: regular business review meetings to measure and discuss supplier performance relative to Tyson's performance expectations; developing Continuous Improvement strategies for the responsible categories and directing resources relating to project management; execution of strategiesthat will develop the supplier relationship while continuously fostering proactive technology and innovation to meet the needs of Tyson; working with Research & Development, Food Safety and Quality Assurance as well as various Business Units to determine best fit products to optimize product performance that are priced at a leveraged competitive advantage and forecasting accurately to ensure a source of continuous supply. Other responsibilities include: ensure that P2P (procure to pay) process is being executed correctly and efficiently. This includes specific transactional activities, inventory management, forecasting and logistics of inbound ingredients and supplies. Position is responsible for measuring andreporting category savings on a quarterly basis. This will include a savings analysis compared to established goals and objectives for the category. This position will be responsible for monitoring commodity market activity and conditions to determine overall strategy to mitigate the cost impact to the company; other duties as needed.REQUIREMENTS:Education: Bachelor's degree preferred. Master degree a plus. Concentration in agriculture business, animal science, business administration, economics, or engineering preferred.Experience: 10+ years of experience in related field; strong technical and operational knowledge of manufacturing processes; familiarity with business and contract law as applied to supplier relationships required; food ingredient experience will enhance position effectiveness.
